MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins and outfielder Jordan Schafer have agreed on a $1.55 million, a one-year contract that avoided arbitration.The deal was reached Friday, giving the Twins contracts with five of their six arbitration-eligible players. Left-handed reliever Brian Duensing remains unsigned.Schafer was claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Braves last August and batted .285 with one home run, five doubles and 15 stolen bases in 41 games with the Twins. That was for goaltender Zach Fucale, the key man in Tuesdays 3-2 win that gave Canada first place in its preliminary round group and a date with Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the world junior hockey championship. "It gave me a lot of energy," the 18-year-old said. "It was very special. "It just lifts you and you sort of play in the moment. It was good for me and the team." Fucale, given a second straight start after helping Canada to a 5-3 win over Slovakia on Saturday, couldnt recall ever having his name chanted quite that way.
